There are national and international telecommunications. Australia's Country code is 61. The outgoing international code is 0011. Payphones are available in red, green, gold or blue. Green, gold and blue phones also have International Direct Dialling (IDD) and Subscriber Trunk Dial (STD). Red phones can only be used for local phone calls, the minimum cost of which is 40c. Phonecards are available at newsagents, supermarkets and chemists in denominations of A$2, 5, 10 and 20. Creditphones, which take most major credit cards, can be found at airports, many hotels and main centres.
