Pacific Harbour Cultural & Shopping Centre up for sale

Visitors to Pacific Harbour on the southern coast of Fiji's main island will be familiar with the central shopping, commercial and cultural centre of this tourist destination. In recent years, under new ownership, it has become an interesting and vibrant hub for tourism. Cafes have opened up, new boutique shops, and accommodation also, notably the funky Tsulu Backpackers 140-bed accommodation. A central feature has always been the Cultural Centre, where tourists are provided with a fun journey on a punt along a waterway, going past various live displays of basket weaving, pottery making, fire making, traditional fire dancing and Fiji cannibal warrior antics! All provides an enjoyable insight into Fiji's history and cultural traditions. A not-to-miss activity at Pacific Harbour.

This multi-dimensional property has just come on the market - view the property for sale information. The 20 acre property, with 2.5 acre building structures, is up for tender. Closing date is 18th April 2008.

Potential investment opportunities in Fiji Islands

Fiji's investment potential is yet to be fully explored by international investors looking for the right opportunity. For many years now, investment in the tourism industry has understandably been at the forefront, with purchases of Fiji Resorts and dive businesses, development of large hotels and residential subdivisions for the international community and the launch of inter-island ferries and other tourism transport infrastructure. It is interesting to note, however, that other potential Fiji investment opportunities are yet to be tapped.

The success of the bottled ' Fiji Water ' is well-known and is an example of non-tourism related enterprises that can be financially profitable in today's Fiji investment climate. Other areas that have been partially exploited are the natural coconut soaps and spa products, with companies such as Mokosoi and Pure Fiji taking advantage in the recent rise in interest in lifestyle-related exports. The leisure industry has seen a marked rise in relaxation beauty therapies and spas throughout the world.

There is still a great potential for other commodities for both local consumption as well as for export. These include exotic tropical flowers, fruit and vegetables. Yet another area is in the production of spices, as is seen from the success in recent years of Spice Fiji Ltd, based in Wainadoi on the Fiji mainland, which has successfully increased its exports of vanilla products. These include vanilla essence, vanilla paste, vanilla pods and so on. In addition to the export benefits to Fiji, it also provides a local income for farmers throughout the islands who are contracted by Spice Fiji to grow the vanilla plants.
