ABOUT TONGA - LAND TYPES
Land may be leased but not owned by foreigners.
There are no current restrictions on access to overseas workers although the Tongan Government prefers that locals be employed where possible.
Foreign investment proposals are reviewed by the Standing Advisory Committee on Industrial Licensing on the advice of the Ministry of Labour, Commerce and Industries.
